UFG appoints Mark Scott VP, regional manager of Western region

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — April 17, 2024

UFG Insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Scott as vice president, regional manager, of its Western region, effective April 15, 2024. He succeeds Jim Moen, who is retiring on July 1 after seven years of dedicated service with the company.

As regional manager, Scott will be responsible for developing and executing underwriting strategy to drive profitable growth in UFG’s Western territory of California, Nevada and Oregon. He will report to UFG Senior Vice President of Field Operations Jeremy Bahl.

“Mark’s broad insurance expertise and strong background in successfully managing agent relationships and market-facing underwriting teams make him an ideal choice for the role,” said Bahl. “We look forward to continuing to pursue profitable growth opportunities in our Western territory under Mark’s proven leadership.”

Scott has nearly 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as assistant vice president, middle market private equity manager for the West region at CNA Insurance. Prior to that, he held several underwriting management roles at Zurich North America, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Wallace Welch & Willingham and Amica Mutual Insurance Company, where he began his insurance career.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Syracuse University and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.
