Worth It campaign against distracted driving makes an appearance at Iowa's Insurance Day on the Hill.
FG Insurance took its Worth It distracted-driving awareness campaign to Des Moines on February 13, 2020, joining approximately 20 members of Iowa’s property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry for Insurance Day on the Hill.

Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds, applauds the work of insurance professionals (with Worth It in the background) upon signing the 2020 Insurance Day on the Hill proclamation.
The annual grassroots event, which marked its 18th year, brings awareness to the vital role insurance plays in Iowa’s economy. It also offers an opportunity for enlightening conversations with community members as well as lawmakers inside the capitol building’s rotunda.

“The theme for Insurance Day on the Hill 2020 was ‘Vote Yes’ for the Iowa insurance industry – jobs, tax, revenues, community service and charitable contributions,” explains Dean Walstrom, a member of UFG’s government relations team.

With the issue of additional hands-free driving legislation on the table this session, UFG’s Worth It message was a strong and timely voice at the event. Worth It could be seen in the background as Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds addressed the crowd and signed the 2020 Insurance Day proclamation, creating a backdrop centered on the importance of focused driving habits.

“During my interaction with individual lawmakers and Governor Reynolds, all expressed familiarity with both UFG and its Worth It campaign,” says Walstrom. “That’s great news for advocates of focused driving, because we all win when we all do our part to make roadways safer.”

Attendees were given information about the preventable dangers of distracted driving and were encouraged to take the Worth It pledge to stay focused behind the wheel.
Because life is worth it. Distracted driving is not.
