Craig Schroeder stands with his 2024 Go Beyond agent award     trophy.
Craig is the executive vice president of Relion Insurance Solutions in Iowa City, Iowa. He has been selected for this distinguished award due to his remarkable work with the Fight With Flash Foundation he established to honor the life of his late son, Austin “Flash”, who bravely battled T-cell lymphoma before passing away in 2015. Despite his illness, Austin maintained a positive attitude until the very end, and it is in this spirit that drives Craig’s passion for helping others.

The Fight With Flash Foundation supports children and families coping with a cancer diagnosis or the loss of a child. In addition, it raises cancer awareness and funds support services and medical research. Craig also hosts two main fundraising events per year, including a well-renowned baseball event and an anticipated annual golf outing. In just 10 years, the foundation has donated over a half million dollars and helped more than 300 families.

“The events he organizes are not just traditional fundraisers; they are community celebrations that inspire participation and collective action,” says Adam Nicholson-Rose, who nominated Craig for the award. “By transforming a personal tragedy into a powerful movement, Craig exemplifies how innovative thinking can drive social change and create lasting impacts.”

The Go Beyond award recognizes its recipient and honors the legacy of Scotty McIntyre, Jr., former CEO, chairman and son of UFG founder Scott McIntyre. Scotty passionately believed in giving back and this award reflects UFG’s promise of community support.

“Craig’s dedication to honoring Austin’s legacy through the Fight With Flash Foundation is nothing short of extraordinary,” says UFG Chief Marketing Officer Michael Sheeley. “He deserves this recognition for his unwavering commitment to supporting families facing the unimaginable challenges of a cancer diagnosis or the loss of a child. We are incredibly proud to honor Craig and the profound impact he continues to make.”

In addition to a trophy, Craig had the opportunity to select a nonprofit to receive $5,000 from UFG in honor of his volunteerism. He has chosen the Fight With Flash Foundation. UFG is proud to honor him with this philanthropic gift.
