SOUIX FALLS, South Dakota – November 29, 2022

UFG Insurance has announced Jennifer Luitjens as recipient of the 2022 Scotty McIntyre, Jr. Go Beyond award, recognizing UFG agent partners for their exemplary community service efforts.

Jennifer is an agent with Boen & Associates, Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was nominated for the award by a colleague for her extensive work as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for the Hardwick Fire Department, superintendent with Rock County 4-H Livestock program and president of the Corson Pink Ladies.

Through the Corson Pink Ladies, an organization that raises money for local families battling cancer, Jennifer has personally helped impact the lives of more than 600 families. She was recognized for her passion and selflessness with an induction into the Pink Ladies Hall of Fame in October 2020.

As a firefighter and first responder, Jennifer is always willing to jump in and help. 

“She has touched the lives of many community members in their greatest times of need,” says Miranda Lee, who nominated Jennifer for this award. “As the saying goes: ‘first in, first out’.” 

The Go Beyond award recognizes its recipient and honors the legacy of Scotty McIntyre, Jr., former CEO, chairman and son of UFG founder Scott McIntyre. Scotty passionately believed in giving back and this award reflects UFG’s promise of community support.

“Each year, we have the privilege to learn about the people who are out there living the UFG promise of support to communities,” says UFG Community Relations Coordinator and Go Beyond committee member Katie Jensen. “Jennifer, this year’s agent winner, undeniably embodies the spirit of this award and we’re so grateful for her partnership with UFG.”

In addition to a trophy, Jennifer had the opportunity to select a nonprofit to receive $5,000 from UFG in honor of her volunteerism. She has chosen the Hardwick Fire Department and UFG is proud to honor her with this philanthropic gift.
