CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — April 15, 2024
UFG Insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Clevenger as vice president of risk control, effective April 15, 2024. In this role, Clevenger will oversee the company’s risk control functions, developing and executing strategies to mitigate underwriting risk in support of UFG’s business goals. He will report to UFG Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Julie Stephenson.
“Gary is a seasoned insurance executive who brings over 20 years of risk control expertise to the role,” said Stephenson. “His vast experience in driving industry segment and line of business specialization as well as building high-performing teams makes him uniquely qualified to lead risk control at UFG. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to advance our risk control services to meet the evolving needs of our agents and policyholders.”
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri Western State University and a master’s degree in safety management from the University of Central Missouri. His professional designations include: Certified Safety Professional, Recognized Risk Engineer, Construction Risk Insurance Specialist. He also serves on the board of directors for the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
