UFG appoints David Birnbaum as VP, technology operations

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — August 20, 2024

UFG Insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of David Birnbaum as vice president of technology operations, effective August 19, 2024. In this role, he will be responsible for the strategic direction of the technology operations team at UFG, reporting directly to Senior VP and Chief Administrative Officer Lindsay Lovvorn.

Prior to joining UFG, he served as chief information officer at a growing telecommunications provider that serves Eastern Iowa. He also held the position of chief technology officer for an information technology company based in New York City.

“David is a highly regarded leader with demonstrated success in developing, implementing and supporting complex infrastructure and technical solutions across diverse industry sectors,” said Lovvorn. “His broad technology background and deep leadership expertise will be a tremendous asset to our company as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Birnbaum holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and chemistry from New Mexico State University.
