In this roleyou will develop implement and maintain the company compensation program, providing support to Human Resources and the Business.  You will also work closely with the Total Rewards Manager in the administration of maintaining company’s benefit programs.  Perform all functions of compensation and benefit administration for all employees and retirees.

Responsibilities:

Compensation: 

  • Develop and administer compensation policies and programs 
  • Lead the review cycles of compensation programs including design, administration, distribution, communication, and training 
  • Prepare compensation analyses and reporting for HR, Management and Executives 
  • Manage and administer the salary structure, including slotting new positions and updating salary and stock ranges, etc. 
  • Partnering with management and peers, development and implementation of career ladders 
  • Conduct analyses of positions, base salaries and incentives to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance of UFG’s pay practices; determine appropriate market rates for jobs 
  • Manage job matching and data submission processes for compensation surveys; analyze and utilize survey data results 
  • Evaluate new positions, promotions, and reclassifications and recommend compensation elements for positions, including base and incentive pay, market range and placement within our salary grade/band structure 
  • Research and monitor FLSA and EEOC compliance; evaluate and administer overall job levels, pay grades and market ranges company-wide 
  • Manage and administer equity program 

Health and Welfare Benefits: 

  • Work within technology-based benefits systems 
  • Administer all leave-related programs (FMLA, ADA, paid family leave, medical leaves, etc.) 
  • Distribution of Compliance and Regulatory Notices to employees and retirees 
  • Maintain personnel files (electronic & paper), prep and image documents related to benefit programs 
  • Plan and Organize Annual Open Enrollment activities including but not limited to annual meetings, benefits education and communication, system updates, employee enrollment  
  • Assist with benefit audits, filings, reporting, educational sessions 
  • Perform administrative tasks including vendor invoicing (tracking) and premium calculations etc. 
  • Responsible for auditing and approving benefit invoices resolving any billing/payment discrepancies as needed with the HRIS Administrator 
  • Complete benefit surveys, analyzing and utilizing survey data results 
  • Coordinate all federal, state and local compliance, filings, reports, external audits, tax returns etc. related to the administration of employee benefits 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with benefits broker, consultants, and carrier representatives 

Qualifications:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate discipline 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred 

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience administering compensation programs.
  • Benefits administratin experience a plus.
  • Experience with a variety of compensation and HR software products preferred. 

Knowledge, skills & abilities: 

  • Knowledgeable in a variety of benefit programs and compensation theories 
  • Knowledge of Compliance and other regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, DOL) 
  • Knowledge of benefit programs including Pension, 401(k), Health, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Benefits, retiree medical  
  • Up to date on compliance, benefits and compensation best practices 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workflow and organize records 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor 
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment 
  • Intermediate/strong with Microsoft Office suite of products 
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with --management, peers, and subordinates as well as external vendors 
  • Ability to be proactive and work independently as well as within a team 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
