The Premium Audit Rep will conduct periodic audits of insured’s records in accordance with manual rules and policy provisions in order to develop an accurate basis for premium adjustment.  They will manage an assigned territory through efficient account scheduling and agency relationship.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage territory effectively and efficiently through proper evaluation of workload and time constraints
  • Conduct audit of insured’s records at insured’s premises or those of the insured’s accountant and develops correct premium basis
  • Verifies premium basis through ledgers, state or federal quarterly reports or other records not used as a primary data source
  • Investigates insured’s classification through personal interview and physical inspection of insured’s premises (when possible)
  • Establish correct classification for insured’s operations during policy period
  • Properly documents changes in operation on completed audits
  • Prepares and submits accurate weekly summary of all activities to manager
  • Assists agents and insureds in reconciling disputed audits
  • Conducts regular agency visits
  • Promotes company image through prompt and competent service to agents and insureds
  • Performs other duties related to premium audit as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School completion
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Completion of INS 21-22-23
  • Completion of APA 91 and 92 working towards APA Designation
  • Working towards CPCU Designation
  • APA designation preferred
  • CPCU designation preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years of premium audit experience
  • Experience and good working knowledge of computer functions

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Strong math aptitude
  • Keyboard typing and 10 key skills
  • Mastery of Nexus audit program preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to audit all lines of auditable commercial business: Automobile, Garage, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Municipalities and Commercial Fleets
  • Exceptional working knowledge of premium audit industry standards
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently including overnight travel. Requires a valid driver’s license meeting requirement of company’s driving policy.
