The Enterprise Agile Coach will coach and assist leaders through the company’s Agile transformation.  He/she will ensure the team consistently delivers on the overall strategy.  This role requires Agile and organization change expertise, excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills and servant leadership.  The Enterprise Agile Coach will collaborate with and mentor coaches, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, executives and Senior Leadership.  One in this role can think strategically, identify and overcome challenges as they arise.  While strong facilitation of large group sessions is paramount to the role, he/she must be equally comfortable in a strategic collaboration role.  The Enterprise Agile Coach understands when taking the lead is required and when a more optimal outcome can be achieved by empowering others to embrace the challenge of leadership, while supporting them to do so.                                                      

Responsibilities:
  • Liaison between company direction and Agile transformation strategy
  • Train and develop Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters
  • Drive culture change parallel to the adoption of an Agile mindset
  • Coaching executive members to optimize effectiveness in supporting an Agile transformation
  • Develop and revise enterprise transformation/rollout plan in conjunction with the Business Transformation Lead
  • Facilitate high-level, cross-team, cross-functional information gathering and decision-making sessions
  • Lead the Agile community of practice across the organization
  • Meet regularly with Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters and coaching teams to review performance, identify successes and gaps
  • Constraint analysis across the enterprise. Identify and remove constraints based on business impact.
  • Evangelize the Agile mindset
  • Develop and maintain cumulative reporting, OKRs, data and metrics showing transformation health, progress, successes and constraints.
  • Work in tandem with external rollout partners to collaborate on a joint plan and develop a feedback loop to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Create/acquire training programs and materials aligned with transformation roadmap

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Four-year college degree required or equivalent work experience; Masters preferred
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) preferred

Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum
  • 5+ years of Agile coaching experience
  • Experience leading an Agile transformation preferred
  • Experience with various facilitation, coaching and training methods and concepts required
  • Experience with developing training materials and conducting small and large group training required
  • Experience with team building required
  • Experience in backlog development, prioritization, refinement and writing user stories required
  • Experience participating on multiple, diverse teams in an Agile setting required
  • Experience with basic development and technology concepts required
  • Experience working with and coaching C-suite and executives preferred
  • Experience in a formal teaching and/or training environment preferred
  • Experience working across multiple business delivery channels preferred
  • Strong Network of partners and colleagues involved in Agile transformations preferred

  • Exceptional understanding of what business level objectives mean at the team level

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Must have a positive mindset and reflect that outwardly as he/she evangelizes the rollout of the Agile mindset
  • Effective problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution, progress
  • Strategic thinker capable of envisioning the future of teams and their impact to the overall company strategy
  • Creates a culture of embracing change and can adapt based on multiple feedback loops
  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, trust
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement over time

  • Creates a culture of experimentation to drive innovation; fosters the language of experimentation to acquire data
  • Expert understanding of constraint theory, and embraces steps to maximize outcomes at a higher level
