In this high pace legal department, you’ll expertly assist our Construction Defect attorneys in all aspects of legal case preparation and file management.  A primary focus will be assisting with the discovery phase of litigation.  Our attorneys will also rely on you for accurate administrative and technical support as well as diving into any special projects assigned by the department manager.

  • Gather and review responses and records produced by clients, opposing counsel and other sources with relevant information
  • Draft responses to discovery
  • Create and/or update Homeowner and Scope of Work Matrices
  • Assist in drafting routine legal documents for review and use by attorneys, party and witness deposition summaries, and prepare trial notebooks
  • Gather and organize exhibits, documents, trial data and other materials in response to management requests, subpoenas, discovery requests, interrogatories, etc.  Prepares records for expert review
  • Coordinates requests between multiple parties involved in case through constant communication with client, claims and attorneys through the end of the case
  • Equipment used will include:  Telephone, copy machine, scanner, computer (software – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, creating .pdf files, docketing and document management program), FAX machine, laser printer.



  • Must have:
    • Minimum of three (3) years working in the position of Paralegal in a civil defense practice 
    • Have complete command of legal concepts, including discovery, trials, and appeals 
    • Knowledge of complex litigation rules and procedures is essential 
    • Have command of Court Rules and Procedures 
    • Experience in construction defect
    • Able to use a personal computer up to 8 hours per day


Education Requirements:

  • Must have a High School diploma
  • Preferred to have college and/or a paralegal certificate/degree from an approved training program
