UFG is looking for a Corporate Medical Specialist to assist personnel in proper and effective claims handling as it relates to injuries and the associated medical treatment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Review claim files and medical records (WC and casualty) for appropriateness of medical treatment, causal connection, missing records and overall interpretation.
  • Prepare a written chronological case history which summarizes the medical records; defines and interprets the medical language and medical procedures; and analyzes the above findings.
  • Provide emergency First Aid to United Fire Group employees as necessary.
  • Assist Human Resources and on pertinent medical issues as appropriate.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5 or more year’s active nursing experience.
  • RN license required with attendance of continuing education classes or other curriculum to meet annual license renewal requirements.
  • Employee is expected to participate in ongoing medical and/or insurance courses as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor and Corporate Worker’s Compensation Manager.
  • Case management or other insurance related experience preferred.
