UFG is looking for an DevOps Solutions Architecture to join our growing Information Services team.

 

The role of the architect is to ensure that the business and IT solutions are in alignment and that the infrastructure (hardware and applications) support both current and future business objectives. They assist the Infrastructure and DevOps team leader to evaluate, recommend, and implement infrastructure, hosting and automation technology to influence information strategy and maximize the value of our solutions.  The architect is instrumental in evolving and implementing the infrastructure and software automation methodology. The architect must possess strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and develop team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the building of long-term strategic roadmap for Infrastructure and DevOps Team Lead.
  • Analyzing, executing, and streamlining Infrastructure and DevOps practices through various future projects and initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities for automating processes with the right tools across departments and project teams.
  • Facilitating application development process and operations.
  • Establishing a suitable DevOps culture across organizational teams to integrate DevOps and Agile practices.
  • Setting up a continuous build environment to speed up software development and deployment process through various departments/teams.
  • Architecting overall, comprehensive, and efficient practices for automation and Agile practices.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and managing technical operations in conjunction with DevOps and Infrastructure team lead.
  • Influence information strategy by providing recommendations that maximize the value derived from assets.
  • Partner with business leadership, technology teams, and enterprise analysts to envision enabled strategies in support of business outcomes in an agile fashion
  • Contribute to the building of a long-term strategic roadmap for the effective governance of IS processes and assets
  • Enhance decision making by providing and communicating a realistic future-state view of the infrastructure and DevOps landscape.
  • Keep current in new technologies and technical aptitude
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Four-year college degree in computer science, information technology, other related technical field or relevant experience and training
  • 7+ years of Infrastructure and DevOps work experience
  • Experience working in and Agile deployment environment
  • Experience in building and working with high functioning teams
  • Experience with PowerShell, VMware vRealize, Microsoft Windows, AWS, Ansible, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy is desirable.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many disciplines and with varying degrees of business and technical experience
  • Ability to be self-directed and to take initiative in defining and completing project deliverables.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to provide direction, motivation and feedback; achieve project objectives through the work of others.
  • Configuration management proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to describe complex, highly-technical issues using simple, clear and precise language.
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Display intellectual curiosity and integrity.
