Training Specialist

US-IA-Cedar Rapids

As a Training Specialist you will develop and implement training on new and existing computer systems, and any appropriate topics as determined by Company management and the Training Director.  Answer questions from employees regarding that training.  Develop training materials to supplement the training.

  • Conduct classroom and individual training sessions
  • Schedule training on quarterly calendar and as requested
  • Solicit and act on feedback from participants of training sessions
  • Coordinate needed training with all corporate locations
  • Participate in the development and testing of automated systems for which training will be delivered
  • Provide feedback to project coordinators and management related to the topic
  • Create easy-to-understand training materials
  • Develop training aids and other supplemental material
  • Maintain a file of training materials



  • Two-year degree in an education or computer-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • AINS designation required; CPCU preferred


  • A background in adult education or training.
  • Provides examples for different types of learners, including auditory, visual, and kinesthetic

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Presentation / teaching skills: demonstrates proper use of training materials, including written documents and electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of technology based learning
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Knowledge of training evaluation theory
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Necessary materials are delivered to students to provide adequate preparation time
  • Remain current on training techniques as well as topics: quality research skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Consistent attendance
