At UFG Insurance, our commitment is to assist our independent agents and brokers in growing their businesses by offering competitive products and excellent after sale support.  

 

As a critical key member of our front-line team your contributions will have a direct impact on that commitment.  Your marketing duties will include generating profitable production from your assigned territory (Arizona) by promoting products to develop existing agencies, as well as prospecting and appointing new agencies.   In addition, you’ll be providing our agents with the highly valued service of underwriting new business they present to you.

 

This position will be working remotely in the state of Arizona. The ideal candidate must reside within the territory.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate strong people skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills
  • Become proficient with our paperless commercial rating and processing systems
  • Project a good company image and communicate what UFG Insurance is looking for in an agency
  • Gather information on competitors and analyze
  • Underwrite new business opportunities from appointed agents in Arizona
  • The position will frequently involve irregular and extended working hours. 
  • Overnight travel is required.  The use of a company vehicle will require an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Four year college degree required
  • 5+ years of underwriting experience and or marketing experience with a property and casualty insurance company
  • Experience in Commercial Lines underwriting including commercial insurance forms and coverages
  • Conceptual knowledge of claims, loss control, premium audit and accounting function
  • Additional educational achievement, related to insurance, is highly preferred.  Examples would be CPCU, CIC, etc.

  • Have a flexible mindset and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
