UFG is currently seeking a Claims-focused Vendor Analyst for its newly created Vendor Management Office (VMO). This position reports to the Director of the VMO and is responsible for supporting the Claims department with the operational aspects of sourcing, selection, onboarding and ongoing management of vendors.

 

The Claims Vendor Analyst will help to develop and align the Claims vendor strategy to best drive operational excellence with a focus on optimizing spend, efficiency and maintaining a best-in-class customer experience. This position will build relationships and collaborate with internal and external business partners and strive to continually improve the gold standard of UFG claims. The Claims Vendor Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining the quality and reporting of Claims’ vendor portfolio data within the scope of evolving VMO governance, policies and processes.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with vendor contract management as this role will also include participating in various aspects of contract lifecycle management (CLM).

Responsibilities:

With a primary focus on support of the Claims department, responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the VMO with the development of and implementation of Claims-specific sourcing strategies and process to ensure vendor selection and contracting activities are performed in an efficient manner, meet internal requirements and help mitigate risks.
  • Serving as the primary contact for vendor inquiries from Claims--communicating frequently and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the various Claims work streams in the development of business and vendor requirements for various projects and evaluating options such as build v. buy, vendor consolidation, outsourcing and shared services, in furtherance of the established optimized sourcing strategy.
  • Facilitating the identification of qualified vendors and assisting in pre-contract due diligence activities to ensure selection of a vendor that meets UFG standards and business requirements.
  • Overseeing the Claims vendor onboarding processes, including partnering with multiple Claims work streams to help establish and communicate vendor specific expectations and procedures to ensure a successful launch and partnerships with vendors.
  • Researching, collecting, tracking and reporting on vendor performance through use of vendor scorecards and in furtherance of established KPIs.
  • Tracking escalated vendor issues, investigating and reporting on root cause analysis.
  • Monitoring contract termination and renewal dates, collecting and analyzing vendor information and reporting on the same.
  • Performing invoice tracking (against purchase orders) as directed by the VMO and accounts payable personnel.
  • Developing and performing quality assurance activities for vendor partners.
  • Ensuring Claims vendors operate with integrity, including monitoring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Requesting and/or assisting in the development of corrective action plans, when necessary.
  • Collaborating with several Claims work streams to identify opportunities for more efficient internal and vendor-integrated processes and recommend solutions focused on continuous improvement.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with multiple work streams on the implementation of creative solutions.
  • Delivering regular updates to various levels of Claims and VMO leadership, including performance reviews, recommended actions, improvements or opportunities.
  • All other duties as assigned, relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Experience in vendor management with a property and casualty insurance company
  • RFP experience is a preferred (leading role in a RFP process is a plus)
