The Claims Analytics Specialist will focus on leveraging data to deliver actionable insights and analytical tools that support regional claims operations and drive operational excellence. This position will build relationships and collaborate with internal and external business partners to promote and support a data-driven culture that seeks to continually improve the gold standard of UFG claims.                

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for research, development and continuous evaluation of key performance metrics that measure best practices across the Claims organization.
  • Develop and maintain the library of business intelligence reports and dashboards that support the claim organization.
  • Drives efforts to ensure clean, reliable and accurate data.
  • Collaborate with multiple business areas to analyze claims processes and identify areas of opportunity to develop data-driven insights and analytical tools for the Claims organization.
  • Present analysis of findings and recommended solutions to various levels of leadership.
  • Works with various levels of leadership and business areas to prioritize business intelligence and analytics projects.
  • Collaborate with several business areas in the designing, developing, testing, deploying and monitoring adoption and usage of reports and creative solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Partner with Analytics, IT, and PMO and serve as the subject matter expert for the Claims organization. Includes participation of designing, developing, testing and deploying of reports and creative solutions for the Claims organization.
  • Collaborate with several work streams to promote and monitor the use of insightful data and analytical tools.
  • All other duties as assigned, relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience with a property and casualty insurance company
  • Experience in bringing large projects to successful completion

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate ownership with all responsibilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Comfortable with interpreting and producing numerical data.
  • Be a strong influencer to promote a strong company culture.
  • Advocate for progress and ability to influence and champion a new way of working.
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and motivate a group to deliver stated objectives with deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively interact and build trusting and collaborative partnerships quickly with all levels of internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to operate in an iterative, agile environment with strong cross-discipline team collaboration.
  • Excel in organizational and efficiency skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other business related software, such as Tableau
