The Enterprise Architect plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s technology strategy, processes, and information technology assets. They will work with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets.


The role of the architect is to take this knowledge and ensure that the business and IT are in alignment and that the IT infrastructure (hardware and software) support business objectives. They will evaluate, recommend, and purchase of technology assets that support the business operation, work with development and infrastructure staff to implement and integrate new and emerging technology into the operation and assist with managing technology vendor relationships and negotiate purchases. 





As part of a two-person Enterprise Architecture team, you will:

  • Contribute to the building of long-term strategic roadmap for all IT Systems Architecture
  • Aligns IT Strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives
  • Seamlessly integrates business and service strategy into enterprise architecture roadmap
  • Partners with business and technology subject matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Leads the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Partners with other enterprise architect to provide a consensus based scalable and adaptable architectural solution
  • Develops and maintains policies, standards and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company
  • Promote the use of shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve how information flows
  • Manages and facilities a review board to evaluate project proposals for architectural fit
  • Evaluates new, emerging technologies
  • Circulates roadmaps to align IT priorities with business partners needs
  • Key contributor with technology vendor relationships
  • Troubleshoot systems as needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Information Services experience including application development, systems integration and hardware management.
  • Experience building enterprise architecture roadmaps
  • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and system engineering
  • Demonstrated Experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking and financial analysis
  • Ability to “Think Big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology
  • Ability to establish, implement and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of architecture industry trends
  • Experience with waterfall, agile and a hybrid of methodology
  • Knowledge or experience within the Insurance industry
  • Experience with the Guidewire platform is ideal but not required.
