UFG Insurance has announced Nick Killoran as recipient of the 2025 Scotty McIntyre, Jr. Go Beyond award, recognizing UFG agent partners for their exemplary community service efforts.

UFG’s 2025 Go Beyond Award agent recipient, Nick Killoran.
Nick is the executive vice president of HUB International Great Plains in West Fargo, North Dakota. He has been selected for this distinguished award due to his remarkable work with The Great North Pole, a nonprofit dedicated to providing children and families in need with essential winter wear and necessities for North Dakota and Minnesota winters — keeping families safe and warm, while relieving the financial burdens during the holiday season.

Nick co-founded The Great North Pole with wife Michelle in 2017. He has since served in several roles including president and board member, working to help support its mission and help as many families as possible. In 2024, The Great North Pole proudly served over 850 families with 23 partnering schools and nonprofits and distributed over 165,000 items to families in need.

“I've watched Nick bring people together in extraordinary ways — uniting vendors, nonprofits, volunteers and community leaders with a shared mission of giving,” says Rachel Thurs, who nominated Nick for the award. “Nick operates with unwavering integrity, putting in the work behind the scenes, earning deep trust and respect from all who cross his path.”

The Go Beyond award recognizes its recipient and honors the legacy of Scotty McIntyre, Jr., former CEO, chairman and son of UFG founder Scott McIntyre. Scotty passionately believed in giving back and this award reflects UFG’s promise of community support.

“Nick’s work with The Great North Pole is a shining example of what it means to go beyond,” says UFG VP, Chief Marketing Officer Michael Sheeley. “His commitment to bring hope, comfort and joy to local children and families during the holidays reflects the very heart of community service. We’re proud to recognize him for the lasting impact he has made on so many lives.”

In addition to a trophy, Nick had the opportunity to select a nonprofit to receive $5,000 from UFG in honor of his volunteerism. He has fittingly chosen The Great North Pole. UFG is proud to honor him with this philanthropic gift.
